EHS Associate
POSITION:
Control EHS a leading engineering, environmental and multi-disciplined professional services firm that responds to their clients with innovative, sustainable solutions, is seeking an EHS Associate for our office.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The EHS Associate provides assistance in the Company’s environmental, health, and safety programs. Environmental responsibilities are the organization, direction, and the execution of the Company’s environmental program; to provide compliance with the applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, and regulations concerning air, water, and land as well as occupational safety and health.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The EHS Associate reports to the EHS Manager
Assist in the design, develop, implement, and maintain Company’s EHS compliance programs to ensure compliance with the applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, and regulations, and applicable Company requirements.
Assists and manages projects related to overall EHS strategy development, key performance indicators, benchmarking, business process redesign, and corporate EHS policies and goals
Manages EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP). Conducts Job Safety Analyses as needed.
Coordinate any emissions testing and or personnel exposure testing, including review and interpretation of testing and monitor results and recommendations of opportunities for eliminating personnel exposures. Helps with the Company’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system.
Help coordinate all activities associated with compliance for applicable environmental regulations, including but not limited to under CAA, CWA, RCRA, and TSCA.
Participate in ensuring timely preparation and submission of applicable environmental permit applications as necessary. Assists Engineering in projects that affect safety and environmental compliance. Assists Finance and Legal Affairs in projects that affect property, casualty, and pollution insurance coverage
Qualifications:
An associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of the applicable EHS regulatory regimes, including but not limited to CAA, CWA, TSCA, RCRA, and OSHA.
Ability to read, research, interpret, discuss, and comment upon laws, rules, and regulations.
Computer proficiency, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Strong professional writing, research, and analytical skills, and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Good problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of business principles and practices, planning, records management and general administration.
Ability to recognize and realize real-world opportunities to limit and focus EHS compliance and/or to avoid compliance non-applicable EHS regulations.
1 to 5 years related experience desired
